Deleting Team Members in the Agent’s System

There is often confusion in relation to deleting ‘Team Members” from your Agent’s System. If the team member is assigned to any properties then when you attempt to delete them a validation error will appear.

It is compulsory that all properties added to Zoo Property contain at least 1 agent or team member, this is the ‘Primary Contact”.

Before you delete a team member you must make sure they’re no longer assigned to any properties. Why? because if you delete that member then the property they are assigned to won’t have a team member and will break the compulsory rule that properties much have at least 1 team member

There is an easy way you can re-assign properties from 1 team member to another and it will only take you around 20 seconds.

You go to “Tools” and then you select on the secondary navigation “Team Assign”. You will then select the “Primary Contact” you’d like to move properties from and then select another “Primary Contact” for who you would like to assign the properties to. Then press ‘Submit” and all properties for that team member will be assigned to the other team member.

You then go into the ‘Team” tab and you can delete the team member.

Limit the Portals a Property is Exported To

We’ve had a few questions as to whether you can NOT send a property to a particular portal you would normal send it to and if so how to do it. In the last Zoo Property update we added a section to each property called “Exports” which lists the 3rd party portals your office is subscribed to.

Most portals are set to automatically subscribe NEW properties, meaning when the property is created that portal will be checked.  If you DO NOT want the property sent to a particular portal then this is what you need to do:

1. When you’re adding the property details you MUST select the “Draft” option when you are saving the property. This will save the listing as DRAFT meaning it will not be exported to any portals.

Note: DO NOT select the “Submit” option as this will save the listing with status “Available” meaning it will be exported to all portals. if a listed is created and not saved as a DRAFT when it is first created then there is no way to uncheck a portal for that listing.

2. Once step 1. is complete you then select the “Exports” tab at the top of the page. This takes you to a page where you can view the portals your office is subscribed to export to. You then uncheck the portals you do not want the listing to appear on and press ‘Submit”.

3. You then select “Status” at the top of the page and change the status for the property from Draft to Available. The listing will then be exported to the portals which are checked in Exports.

If you have any questions please post a comment on this post and we will answer it. This will also allow others to view the questions and answers.

Zoo Tuts – The Real Estate Agent Website

This is the first in a series of Video Tutorials on designing the real estate agent homepage. This goes through all the basics we think are needed to make a great real estate home page.

The Search Result Page

The search results page can make or break the user experience, only provide information on this page that is relevant to the search. if you website only has a handful of listings, never make them use a full search tool, get straight into the listings and allow them to refine down from there.

The Property Page

Creating a property page can be fraught with danger, especially since there are forces pulling you towards what you want. By far the most important things for users are price, location information, photography and features and for the real estate agent, a simple way for users to share information socially and also contact the agent.

Other Pages

Here is a look at some of the other pages we will find on a traditional real estate agent website. These pages may share information dynamically to the home page and also be jumping points to further information across your website. This Zooproperty.com tutorial on how to design some of the other pages such as team member pages and individual team member pages.
