Realty Plugin Installation

Installation

  1. Install the Realty Plugin and the WordPress Default Enhanced 1.6 theme (or the standard wp theme which might need some configuring).
  2. Make sure the htaccess file and wp-content/uploads directory are writable.
  3. Login to wp-admin and activate the Theme followed by the plugin.
  4. Go in to “permalinks” (in settings) and adjust permalink structure to be “Day and name”.
  5. Create two WordPress pages through the wp page manager, calling them home and news.
  6. Select ‘reading” (in settings) and check the static page radio button and select the “Home” as the front page and “Blog” as the post page.

Note: For the Realty Plug-in to work you are required to install the XML to Array plug-in which draws data from the Zoo Property API and inserts it into the WordPress database for your site. The Realty Plug-in then draws the property information from the tables created by the XML to Array plug-in in the WordPress database.

Real Estate Settings

General Settings: – Insert the Office id for the offices you wish to display property and team member data for. Set the other defaults you would like and add the Google Maps and Walk Score Keys.

Media Slideshow: – If you would like an image/video/plan slideshow then you need to install and activate the Agentpoint Grid manager plugin. You can control flash player settings in this section.

Pages: - This is where you can determine what real estate related dynamic pages you would like included in your website. If you uncheck any pages then they will be deleted from the wp page manager.

Search Results: – Here you can control what information appears on the search results pages. You can Add, Remove & Edit elements which will update the way information is displayed.

Sold And Leased: - All sold and leased properties will appear here with the price being the sold price (if it ws entered when the property was marked as sold) or if there is no sold price the listing price for the sold property. You can elect to “display the price” or whether or not to “display the listing”.

Team: - Select the team members you would like displayed on the website and select whether or not they are an author of any news articles in the blog.

Widgets

Where you control what information will be displayed on individual pages. On the right are the theme files with two theme files belonging to each website page. The plug-in allows you to control where you would like information displayed by using widgets to display all information.

  1. Homepage – Homepage Main and Homepage Side
  2. Property Page – Property Page Main and Property Page Side
  3. Search Results Pages – Tags Search and Static Sidebar
  4. Other Static Pages – Static Sidebar
  5. Blog – Blog Sidebar

The following real estate widgets are available to be added to the files above. Just select, drag and drop the widgets. Once the widget is in place you should open the widget and adjust the settings of the widget.

Note: Some widgets will not activate correctly if they do not have a title or if other data is not entered.

Real Estate Featured Listings – Featured property listings on the homepage.You can control the number of properties which are displayed along with what data is displayed through the widget. The client can select what property id’s are to be featured through the Realty Page.

Real Estate Current Listings – Current listings added to the website. You can control the number and type of listings through the widget.

Real Estate Area map Searchh – Search for real estate by a geographic area.

Real Estate News Articles – Latest News From real Estate Categories. You can select the number of articles, number of characters and article categories to be displayed through the widget.

Real Estate Property Search – Enter property id or suburb.

Real Estate Feeds – Sales, Rentals and Google RSS so listings can appear on Google. This widget creates an XML of the property listings. You can then submit this link/rss/xml to Google who will then index all of the properties on a daily bases so they appear on Google Maps.

Real Estate Quick Search – Search for property through multiple options. In the widget you can control what options you would like to appear in the quick search and what the drop down options are.

Real Estate Sold Listings – Displays sold listings on pages. Through the widget you can select what sold information you would like displayed. The plugin also creates a sold listings page which enables results to be displayed in a table format or exactly the same as the search results appear (this setting can be found in the settings page).

Real Estate Property of the Week – Display Properties of the Week on the homepage. Through the widget you can control what type of property to display.The client can select what property id’s are to be featured through the Realty Page.

Real Estate Similar Sold Listings – Show similar sold listings to a listing teh user is looking at.

Real Estate Rental Application – Rental Application form.

Real Estate Media – Control how and where images are displayed. There are seven image options to choose from or a combination of media types. You need to make sure you have installed the Agentpoint Thumbnail Grid Plug-in if you would like the Slide Show Pro image option. You can control the SlideShowPro player through the

Real Estate Contact Agent – Choose what agent details to display where through the widget.

Real Estate Property Description – Displays the property description.

Real Estate Map – Display the properties location on a Google Map.

Real Estate Walk Score - Display the properties Walkscore and map. In the widget there are settings to control the map and Walkscore style.

Real Estate Property Features – Displays the properties features along with open inspection times for a property.

Real Estate Property Table – Displays key information about the property. In the widget you can control what property information is displayed.

Real Estate Action Buttons – Email self, print and email friend for the property.

Real Estate Mortgage Calculator - Loan repayments for a certain amount of borrowing.

Real Estate Similar Listings - Similar listings to the property a user is viewing. You can control the type of similar listings you want displayed in the property widget.

Real Estate Share – Shares the website property page with popular social networks. You can control which networks in the widget settings.

There are also the standard WordPress widgets which can be added to any page or sidebar of the website.

Grid Manager Plugin

This plug-in allows for a flash image player on the property page of your real estate website. It users technology developed by SlideShowPro which has been integrated for WordPress.

Make sure you read the terms and conditions at http://slideshowpro.net/ as i believe there is a small one-off fee of a few dollars to license their technology.

Back to the plug-in, Agentpoint have tweaked this plug in so it synchronises with the Realty Plug-in giving users the option to display images using SlideShowPro or to have a Slide Show open in a new window. There are 7 combination of image viewing options available to the webmaster which can easily be switched up at any time.

Location Info Plugin

The Location Info Plugin creates a widget which can be installed on the property listing page and displays local information relating to the suburb the property is located in. The plugin works with the Realty Plugin so once it is installed it will populate the property pages.

Agents can update data for each project through wp-admin and can include images and other suburb statistics.

Stamp Duty Calculator Plugin

The Stamp Duty Calculator Plugin can be installed on any Worpdress website and synchronises with the Realty Plugin designed by Agentpoint.

The Stamp Duty Calculator Plugin allows the developer to enter the basic stamp duty calculations for the state they would like the calculator workable in. The plugin comes standard with all the formula entered for the states across Australia but these can be easily updated or deleted.

Favourites Plugin

The Favourites Plugin allows website users to add property listings to a favourites list which can be viewed at a later time. The favourites list registers in the user\’s cookie meaning they can return to the website up to 30 days later and still these properties will be saved in the users favourites.

The Favourites Plugin synchronises with the Realty Plugin so it is necessary to install this as well.

XML To Array Plugin

The XML to Array Plugin imports the property and team member data from the Zoo Property API and places it into tables in your Wordpress data. This means you can then extract the data from the Wordpress database to display it on the website. There are two distinct advantages of using the XML to Array Plugin:

1. The website will be a lot quicker if you are quering the local Wordpress database rather than an XML. This will improve user exeprience for the website.

2. The Agentpoint Realty Plugin draws all the property information from the XML to Array Plugin. So if you would like to take advantage of the free Realty Plugin then you must intsall the XML to Array Plugin.

Realty Plugin

The Realty Plug-in is a WordPress plug-in which once installed will provide all the functionality necessary to have a feature rich real state websites. This plug-in combines 10 years of real estate WordPress development of numerous plug-ins by Agentpoint converted into a super Realty plug-in. Once installed you have complete control over all data in your website and you can easily switch off/on or place the data in certain locations of your website. All of the features and data display for the website are controlled through WordPress widgets. These widgets are located in the Appearance tab in WordPress Admin. It is as simple as clicking, dragging and placing widgets on the pages you would like them to appear.

Realty plug-in features/widgets include:

Homepage or Sidebar Widgets (displayed on the homepage)


zoo_pop_featuredReal Estate Featured Listings – This widget displays featured property listings on the homepage or in the sidebar of other pages.You can control the number of properties which are displayed along with whether just sales listings, lease listings or a combination of both are displayed. You also have the ability to choose what property information (bed, bath, car, suburb, property type, price, listing type) you would like to appear. When the client logs in they can control what property id’s will appear as featured listings.

You can control the number of properties which are displayed along with whether just sales listings, lease listings or a combination of both are displayed. zoo_pop_weekReal Estate Property of the Week – Similar to the Featured Property widget this widget displays properties of the week on the homepage or in the sidebar of other pages. You have the option to display a House, Apartment and Rental of the week. You also have the ability to choose what property information (bed, bath, car, suburb, property type, price, listing type) you would like to appear. When the client logs in they can control what property id’s will appear as properties of the week.

zoo_pop_mapReal Estate Area map Search – Creates a map with a drop down on the side allowing users to quickly narrow their search down to a specific state. Once a user selects a state they are directed through to the search results page where they can further narrow their search criteria.

zoo_pop_newsReal Estate News Articles – This widget can be placed anywhere and displays the latest news articles published through the blog. You can select the title for this section, the number of articles, excerpt size and article categories to be displayed on the website.

zoo_popReal Estate Property Search – This widget can be placed anywhere and allows users to search via property id or suburb. The widget will search all properties in the database and display results matching the users criteria. This works the same way as GOogle answers with an Ajax highlighter for quicker retrieval of results.

zoo_pop_tagsReal Estate Tags – This widget can be placed anywhere and allows users to perform an interactive search for property. It is a hyperlink search which updates in real time and the search results update according to the selected options in the sidebar. The widget will search all properties in the database and display results matching the users criteria.

zoo_pop_searchReal Estate Enhanced Search – A widget combining the Real Estate Quick Search and Real Estate Tags Widget and users JQuery allowing the user to quickly jump between each search type.

zoo_pop_feedsReal Estate Feeds – This widget creates a Sales, Rentals and All (Google) active listings RSS feed for your property listings. You can then submit this link/rss/xml to Google and other 3rd party portals who accept RSS, who will then index all of the properties on a daily bases so they appear on their website.

zoo_popReal Estate Quick Search – This widget is placed in the sidebars and allows users to search for property and narrow their selection through key property features. In the widget you can control what options you would like to appear in the quick search and what options should be included in the drop downs.

zoo_popsalesReal Estate Sold Listings – There are a number of these widgets which can be placed in numerous locations on the website and which displays sold and leased listings. Through the widget you can select what sold information you would like displayed. The plug-in also creates a sold listings page which enables results to be displayed in a table format or exactly the same as the search results appear (this setting can be found in the settings page).

zoo_pop_socialReal Estate Social Widget – This widget allows users to share a page on the website with a number of popular social networks. There are around 50 social networks to choose from and you can control which networks are offered through the widget settings.

zoo_pop_teamReal Estate Team Widget – This widget displays the real estate agent’s details and a contact form to contact the agent(s) in relation to that property. You can control what information is displayed including the agent’s name, phone, email, mobile, fax and role. You can also elect whether the agent’s image is displayed and if the image is a portrait or landscape image.

Property Page Widgets (displayed on the property page)


zoo_pop_similarSOLDReal Estate Similar Sold Listings – This widgets displays similar sold listings to the listing the user is looking at on that page. You have the option to control the number of similar listings, title and criteria for similar listings. Criteria includes Price range, listings type, suburb, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, carspaces.

zoo_popmediaReal Estate Media – This widget controls where and by what means images are displayed. There are 9 image options and a combination of media types to choose from. These include:

  • Flash Player Slide Show – Images rotate through a slideshow
  • Thumbnail – One large image with a number of thumnbails below/beside that image which when clicked update the main image.
  • Flash Player Slide Show + Thumbnail Popup (to view larger images)
  • Flash Player Slide Show + Lightbox Popup (allows to scroll through larger images)
  • Main Image + Flash Player Slide Show Popup
  • Main Image + Thumbnail Popup
  • Main Image + LightBox Popup
  • Thumbnail + Flash Player Slide Show Popup

zoo_pop_teamReal Estate Contact Agent – This widget displays the real estate agent’s details and a contact form to contact the agent(s) in relation to that property. You can control what information is displayed including the agent’s name, phone, email, mobile, fax and role. You can also elect whether the agent’s image is displayed and if the image is a portrait or landscape image.

zoo_pop_descriptionReal Estate Property Description – This widget will display the property description text. This is the text used to describe the property. Be sure to think about the design of the website for this information as it varies greatly from property to property.

zoo_pop_mapReal Estate Map – You can display a Google map which will automatically mark the property’s location on that Google Map. Can also include Street View. You can adjust the height and width of this Widget also.

zoo_popwalkscoreReal Estate Walk Score - This widget displays a properties Walkscore, what amenities are near that property and the location of them on a map. In the widget there are settings allowing you to control the map and Walkscore style.

zoo_popfeaturesReal Estate Property Features – This will display the property features you checked for the property in Zoo Property.

zoo_pop_outReal Estate Property Table – All the fixed field data you enter in relation to a property are Displayed in the property table. In the widget you can control what property features you would like to display through out the website.

_actionReal Estate Action Buttons – This widget contains all of the call to action options available to the user. The user can Email the listing to himself, email it to a friend, print the listing, complete a rental application form, view the Photo Gallery (image popup), save the image to their favorites or view their favorites.

_mortgageReal Estate Stamp Duty & Mortgage Calculator - This widget calculates the mortgage repayments in relation to borrowing a certain amount of money along with the stamp duty (taxes) payable when you purchase a property. You can choose to display each widget separately or to display both widgets as one using JQuery to tab the options.

This widget also gives you the option to display a Suburb Profile, Sold/leased Listings, Similar Listings, Walkability and Map as tabs in a table using JQuery.
